Q. How do I book?

A. Please book online through our Website by clicking on the availability Calendar. You can pay by Credit or Debit Card which is organised through Sage Pay secure booking system.

Q. Are there any additional costs?

A. No. We do not charge a Booking Fee or Credit Card fees.

Q. What is a good housekeeping deposit?

A.A refundable good housekeeping deposit of £100 per property will be charged in addition to your rental price. This will be a charge only on your Credit/Debit Card. Please leave the property as you find it. In the event of extensive time and materials used by cleaners due to neglect, this deposit will not be refunded.

Q. What time is check in?

A. The keys will be available from 3pm and will be located in the lock box outside of the property. The keycode will be provided with your pre-arrival information after booking.

Q. How late can we arrive?

A. As keys are left in the lock box for you, guests can arrive any time after 3pm without the worry of picking up the keys at a certain time.

Q. What time do we check out?

A. All properties should be vacated by 10am at the latest. Prompt departure is appreciated in order for our cleaners to maintain their high standards and the smooth running of our changeover procedure. Keys should be returned to the lock box upon departure.

Q. Do we have to let you know if there are any changes to the guests that are coming, from the original booking?

A. Any changes to the original booking should be notified to us as soon as possible.

Q. Can we use the mill for a party/venue and invite additional guests?

A. Swilland Mill is not available for day hire / to use as a venue for a private party or event. We are afraid that due to Health and Safety and Insurance reasons, only paying guests booked into the property can stay at the property. The parking arrangements accommodate our guests only and additional vehicles would cause obstructions to the driveway which is shared with the owner. Additional guests can not be accommodated unless by special agreement with the owners at the time of booking.

Q. Are pets allowed?

A. Sorry, no pets are allowed except for Guide dogs by agreement prior to booking.

Q. Do you allow smoking?

A. Sorry, no smoking is permitted inside any part of Swilland Mill. When smoking outside, please use the smoker's bins provided outside each property.

Q. Is the accommodation suitable for babies and children?

A. Babies and small children are well catered for with stairgates, highchairs, travel cots, bed guards, baby monitors and waterproof bedding all provided in each property. Outside the ponds and gardens are all fenced so small children will enjoy the Windmill playhouse and tricycle while both adults and children of all ages can enjoy the Swingball. If the weather is not so good, the Nintendo Wii, board games and jigsaws are always popular.

Q. Are there any feathers in any of the bedding or soft furnishings?

A. As far as we are aware, none of our bedding, cushions or sofas contain feathers.

Q. Is there a hot tub?

A. The Hot Tub is for all guests of Swilland Mill to enjoy and situated in the communal area of the grounds. As it is available 24/7 all guests can find a suitable time to enjoy it. Hot Tub towels are provided within your accommodation. There is also an outside changing room and lockers next to the Hot Tub. Please be considerate of other guests and our neighbours whilst using the Hot Tub.

Q. How many does the mill cater for in total?

A. Swilland Mill sleeps 16 in total, which includes a day bed and pull out bed in The Lucam. In addition, there are 3 travel cots available for babies.

Q. Will i need a car?

A. This all depends on what type of holiday you want! If you simply want to relax in nice surroundings, the facilities at Swilland Mill should keep you entertained whatever the weather or time of year. If you do not have a car and fancy getting out and about, public transport is available and there is information on this provided in the Guest Information folder at the property. Swilland Mill is situated off a B class road and there is a bus stop outside the main entrance. The local shop is in the next village which is 1.5 miles away however, some guests like to order groceries online to be delivered at the property when they have arrived. Please be aware that we do not have telephones in the property however mobile telephone reception is usually fine.

Q. How far is the local pub and nearest shop?

A. The local pub, The Moon and Mushroom is in the centre of the village of Swilland. We would not advise walking directly to the pub from Swilland Mill as there is no footpath alongside the road, however, there are footpaths for walkers leading to the pub across the fields. The nearest shop is 1.5 miles away in Otley, which also has a Post Office. Open every day, it sells newspapers, alcohol and general groceries.

Q. How far are the nearest towns of Woodbridge and Ipswich?

A. Ipswich: 7 miles to Centre - 15 minutes drive
Woodbridge: 7 miles to Centre - 15 minutes drive.

Q. How far is the nearest train station?

A. There are train stations at both Ipswich (7 miles) and Woodbridge (7 miles) town centres.

Q. What are the sleeping arrangements?

A. The Granary has 2 bedrooms and a large family bathroom: The master bedroom has a King size bed and the second bedroom has twin beds which can be zip linked to form a Superking. A travel cot is also provided in the master bedroom.

The Mylen has 2 bedrooms: Bedroom 1 has a King size bed and an ensuite bathroom while bedroom 2 on the top floor contains twin beds which can be zip linked to form a Superking. A travel cot is also provided in the King size room.

The Lucam has 2 bedrooms and a family bathroom on the 2nd floor. Bedroom 1 has twin beds which can be zip linked to form a Superking size bed and an additional day bed with a pull out bed. Bedroom 2 has twin beds which can be zip linked to form a King size bed. On the top floor, the Master bedroom has a King size bed with ensuite toilet / shower room. A travel cot is also provided. The day bed and pull out can be moved to the Master bedroom if required.

Q. Do you have a shower or bath?

A. The Granary: A large family bathroom is available with a corner bath and overhead shower.

The Mylen: The master bedroom has an ensuite with shower over bath plus there is also a family bathroom with additional shower over bath.

The Lucam: A family bathroom with shower over bath is located on the second floor and the master bedroom on the top floor has an ensuite shower/toilet.

Q. Can beds be linked together?

A. Should you require beds to be zip linked together, please request this at the time of booking or no later than 2 weeks before arrival.

Q. Are bedding and towels included?

A. Bedlinen and towels are included. Please use the dark blue towels for hot tub & outdoor use.

Q. What are the parking arrangements?

A. There is a maximum of 7 car parking spaces at Swilland Mill. Designated spaces have been allocated to each accommodation. When vehicles are not in use, please ensure they are parked within these areas at all times and please take care not to obstruct neighbouring properties and their driveways. Please note that the main driveway is shared with the owner.

The Granary: 2 spaces (1 behind the other) immediately on left hand side of property.

The Lucam: 2 spaces on left hand side in front of the windmill playhouse (past the main Mill building). A third vehicle can be parked behind the other 2.

The Mylen: 2 spaces in front of brick wall opposite the property (straight ahead as you drive through Swilland Mill entrance gates).

Q. Can we get online groceries delivered?

A. Guests can pre-order groceries online for delivery during your stay. Should you require a delivery on the day of your arrival, it may be possible for us to receive your delivery on your behalf between the hours of 12 noon and 3pm. Please contact us to arrange this should you require.

Q. What activities can we do if we stay for 2 weeks?

A. Swilland Mill offers numerous facilities so you shouldn't get bored if the weather isn't great! If you have time to venture out, Swilland Mill is conveniently located in a central position within easy reach of all of Suffolk's attractions. There are numerous beaches, historic houses and gardens, lots for children and if you feel like spending an hour in the car there are also the cities of Norwich or Cambridge to explore.

Q. How far is Swilland Mill from the beach?

A. There are several beaches to choose from all within close proximity to the Mill:

Felixstowe: 25 minutes drive
Aldeburgh: 30 minutes drive
Southwold: 40 minutes drive
